Vinyl and hybrid flooring installation in Sydney
Hybrid and luxury vinyl plank floors look like timber but are waterproof and much harder to scratch, which is why they are popular in kitchens, laundries, rentals and homes near the beach. We supply and install both, and help you choose between them based on the room and the subfloor.

Hybrid vs luxury vinyl plank
Hybrid (SPC) flooring has a rigid stone-plastic core and clicks together as a floating floor. It hides minor subfloor imperfections better and feels more solid. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is thinner and more flexible; glue-down LVP is very stable and quiet, which suits apartments and commercial areas, but it needs a smoother subfloor.
Where vinyl and hybrid work best
Kitchens, laundries, family rooms, rentals and homes with kids and pets benefit most. In coastal suburbs, the waterproof surface and scratch resistance handle sand and wet feet far better than softer floors.
Preparation and underlay
Vinyl shows unevenness underneath, so we check flatness and level the slab where needed. Many hybrid boards come with an attached underlay; in apartments an acoustic underlay may also be required to meet strata rules.
Vinyl and hybrid in apartments
With a suitable acoustic underlay, hybrid and LVP usually meet strata acoustic requirements. We provide the specifications your strata committee needs before the install is booked.
Care and maintenance
Sweep or vacuum regularly and mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid steam mops unless the manufacturer allows them, and use protectors under heavy furniture.

Vinyl & Hybrid Flooring questions
Everything Sydney homeowners and businesses ask before booking a flooring install.
Is hybrid flooring waterproof?+
The boards themselves are waterproof. Standing water should still be wiped up, because water can get under the floor at the edges.
Can hybrid go over tiles?+
Often yes, if the tiles are sound and flat. We check grout lines and level where needed.
Is vinyl or hybrid better for an apartment?+
Both can work. Glue-down LVP is very quiet; hybrid with an acoustic underlay is common too. The building's acoustic requirement usually decides.
